WOOL IMPROVING
United P.A. —By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, Tuesday. At the Sydney wool sales today the offerings totalled 9.1 S 5 bales, of which 8,844 bales were sold. There were also sold privately 1.831 bales. Strong general competition ruled, with perhaps more forcible bidding by Yorkshire and Japanese buyers, and the improved conditions reported yesterday were fully maintained. Greasy Merino sold to 28d. At Melbourne spinners’ wools sold from 5 per cent, to 10 per cent, higher than the rates ruling before Easter. Other wools averaged 5 per cent, to 7i per cent, advance.
