BEACH RACE MEETING SPEED AT MURIWAI SPORTS CLUB CHAMPIONS Although the beach surface was very soft and ridges left by the falling tide were numerous, the race | meeting of the Sports Motor-Cjele | Club at Muriwai on Sunday was a decided success. Members were present from the North Shore Sports Motor-Cycle Club and the Ladies' Progressive Club. The programme included five championship events, as well as a speed test over a measured half-mile, and several handicap contests. There was no race for women riders. The highest speed of the day was registered by Cyril Walker, who covered the half-mile course in 21 l-ssec, an average speed well in excess of SO miles an hour. Best times were: Cyril Walker (Douglas), 21 l-ssee; A Harry (New Hudson), 21 3-ssec; J. Matthews (Royal Enfield), 22sec; Jack Garmson (Norton), 23sec; vV. White (Rex Acme), 23 l-ssec; A.
