Rogers, of Hamilton, is a visitor to Auckland, and is staying at Hotel Cargen. * * * Mrs. J. Crisp, of Victoria Avenue, Remuera, is on a visit to Christchurch and Dunedin. Mr. and Mrs. Poole, of Auckland, are visiting their daughter, Mrs. D. Lundon, in Cambridge. * * * Miss Joan Gardner has returned to Gisborne after a short visit to Auckland and Hamilton. Mrs. Baker-Creswell, of Victoria Avenue, Remuera, has returned from a visit to New Plymouth. Mrs. Cyril F. Seaward, of Upland Road, Reipuera, has returned from a visit to New Plymouth. Mrs. Molly Eccles has returned to Auckland after a fortnight’s holiday at the Geyser Hotel, Whakarewarewa, 'Rotorua. Misses Jean Kent, A. Howard, Nancy Otway, and M. Heal, who have been on a motor tour, have returned to Auckland. * * * Among the week-end visitors to the Waitomo Caves were Miss M. Leigh, Te Kuiti; Miss M. Speedily and Mrs. J. Leigh, Auckland. * * * Mrs. S. T. Hampton, of Bishop’s Stortford. Herts., England, who has been visiting her son in Gordonton, sailed by the Maunganui for Sydney and England.

Mrs. Tonks-Gardner. of Auckland, who was in Hamilton for the golf tournament, has returned home. Mrs. Bannister, of Wliangarei, has returned from a holiday spent with her mother, Mrs. Dane, Remuera. Mrs. E. H. Simons and her two daughters, of Whangarei, are the guests of Mrs. Cooper, Mount Eden. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Kent, of Radlett, England, and Mr. and Mrs. S. Blackley, of Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. D. D. Scott, of Birdwood Crescent, Parnell, and Mrs. F. H. Pope, of St. George’s Bay Road, Parnell, who have been visiting New Plymouth, returned last evening. Mr. and Mrs. P. R. Wingrove, who have been on a visit to Auckland, left by car on their return to Wellington yesterday morning accompanied by Miss Peggy Ferguson, of Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Reid, of Hamilton, Mrs. G. IT. Rogers, of Hamilton, and Mrs. F. H. Barton, of Taihape, are staying at Hotel Cargen. . Mr. and Mrs. W. Balloch, of Melbourne; Mr. and Mrs. J. Thornton, of Warkworth; Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Williamson, of Rotorua; and Miss T. Armitage, of Wellington, are at the Royal Hotel.

Mrs. M. Brook, of Epsom, accompanied by her daughters, Mrs. Eric Holiday and Mrs. Roy Hulbert, leave by the Aorangi for a visit to Canada and America. Mrs. W. Perry, wife of Dr. W. Perry, of Gloucestershire, England, who is on a visit to her brother and -sister-in-law, in Hamilton, is at present staying at Hotel Stonehurst. Mr. and Mrs. Lumley Frank, of London. who have been paying an extended visit to Mrs. Frank’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. Alfred Nathan, of “Wickford,” Princes Street, left by the Rangitiki from Wellington on their return to England. Dr. and Mrs. Ward, of Southampton, England, who have been spending several weeks at The Chateau, Tongariro, leave for Lake Taupo on Friday, where they intend having two weeks’ fishing and caravan life. Dr. Ward is the possessor of a very fine caravan which he brought from England with him. Dr. and Mrs. Ward leave New Zealand in May, via Java and Singapore. They intend visiting New Zealand again next year for the fishing season. ENGAGEMENTS The engagement is announced of Jean Gildovrie. second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Troup. Kelburn, Wellington, to Stanley David Edmondson,’ eider son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Weir, Herne Bay, Auckland. The engagement is announced of Joyce, only daughter of Mrs. Halliwell. of Ranfurly Road AVest, Epsom, to John Sehvyn, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Woollams. of Wheturangi Road, Epsom. The engagement is announced of Dorothy Dean, daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Neville Davis, of Ellerslie, to William Alfred, third son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Thomas Hawkes, of Whatford, England. The engagement is announced between Rosealine Florence, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. AVest. of Auckland, and Charles AVilliam, eldest son of Mrs. Gibson and the late Mr. C. W. Gibson, of .London.
