CRYSTAL PALACE AND WEST END
Jack Egan, who plays a featured role in “Broadway Scandals,” the Columbia talking, singing and dancing comedydrama, now at the Crystal Palace, Mount Eden, and West End, Ponsonby Road, Theatres, played the Keith - Orpheum Circuit for eight years before entering pictures. He has a beautiful voice and is a versatile dancer; and is therefore well suited to play the role of a song and dance man in this current production. Sally O’Neil and Carmel Myers play the other featured roles. “The Broadway Scandals” is a backstage drama and romance, scintillating with melody, pretty girls, gorgeous spectacles and jazz dances.
Tommy Reilly, referee of the famous Tunney-Dempsey championship battle, plays an important role in “Young Man of Manhattan,” a new Paramount all-talking picture in production at the Long Island studio. Monta Bell is directing and Claudette Colbert, Charles Rugglcs, Norman Foster and Ginger Rogers are featured.
