Five warships were launched and the keel of a giant liner of 45,000 tons laid down in a single day, which was observed as a public holiday in all the ports concerned. The warships consist of two 10,000ton cruisers, each carrying three seaplanes, and two scout ships capable of 37 knots, and one I.SOO-ton submarine. The new liner will be the largest and most luxurious Italian ship afloat. It will carry 2,250 passengers. Ninety-thousand black-shirted armed youths between the ages of 15 and 18 years were enrolled as Evanguardisti, or junior Fascists, throughout Italy. One hundred and ten thousand boys under 15 years of age were simultaneously enrolled as Ballillis. a sort of military Boy Scouts.
