LIBERALS KEEP OUT OF BY-ELECTION COMPLETE FUSION PREDICTED United I*. A.—By Telegraph—Copyright Reed. 9.30 a.m. LONDON, Sunday. Nominations lor the Fulham byelection following Dr. Spero’s resignation, show that there will be a straight-out fight between the former Conservative member, Sir Cyril Cobb, and the Labourite, Mr. J. M. Banfield. Lord Selbourne, speaking at Peters* field, said he thought it certain that before the next election Britain would see Mr. Lloyd George and the Liberals uniting as one party with Mr. Ramsay MacDonald. Dr. G. E. Spero was elected as the Labour member for Fulham West at the last General Election, unseating the Conservative member. Sir Cyril S. Cobb. The voting was; Dr. Spero (Labour) .. .. 16,190 Sir Cyril Cobb (Con.) .. .. 13,979 Mr. G. A. Gale (Liberal) .. 5,920 In 1924 the Conservative majority was 2,211.
