The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, left Wellington last evening for Rotorua. He will afterward go to Auckland.—P. A.

Professor T. G. R. Blunt, of Canterbury College, left Wellington for England by the Rangitiki.

Sir Henry F. Wigram, of Christchurch, was a passenger for England by the Rangitiki, which left Wellington on Saturday.

Mr. T. B. Strong, Director of Education, left Wellington by the Makura to attend the conference in Melbourne of Australian Directors of Education.

Mr. A. E. Mander, general secretary of the Reform Party organisation, is visiting Auckland on business connected with the Parnell by-election. He will be absent from Wellington for about a week.

Dr. H. Bertram, of Rotorua, who has been on holiday in New South Wales, has returned to the Dominion. Mrs. Bertram left for New Plymouth on Saturday and will return with the doctor early next week.

Mr. K. S. Williams, M.P., who has been a patient in an Auckland hospital for the past month with an injury to the leg which he received in a fall while on a deep-sea fishing trip in the North, is now convalescent.

Mr. H. T. Merritt, immediate pastpresident of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, who has been on a brief visit to England, has sailed for New Zealand, via India, and is due in Auckland from Sydney about May 20.

Mr. S. S. Dean, chairman of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union, who was in Auckland during the week-end on business connected with the visit of the British Rugby team, returned to Wellington last evening.
