WEST END CLUB’S “AT HOME” FOURS FOR A. M. PATERSON'S TROPHt The West End Rowing Club’s President’s Day to mark the close of the season, was held at the club’s shed. St. Mary’s Bay, on Saturday afternoon. Delegates present wore: Messrs. Dick, Pooley. A.R.A.: A. GllllgO. A.R.C.; W. M. Bright. SL Georges R.C. Owing to rough water the single sculls for the Laidlaw trophy were postponed, and four* for the A. M. Paterson trophy were rowed instead. The judge wa* the president of the club, Mr. A. M. Paterson, and starting was by mutual consent. The course was from the timber mills in Freeman’s Bay to a point at the boad-shed. A pleasant afternoon was spelt, rowers and their friends dancing to music supplied by Miss A 1 Clarke, and afternoon tea was provided by Mrs. Mortimer-Fa ires and the women's committee. Results of the two rowing events were: Veterans’ Race.—J. Skinner. L. Skinner, A. Spencer, W. Conway, N. Conwny (cox), v. W. Bright, W. Guthrie. FSoufflet, P. McNamara. A. McPoaaM (cox). Skinner won by a length afttr a fairly even race. Paterson’s Fours.—First heat: EWright, F. Baker. R. Whitton, M. Oarthy. R. Collins (cox), v. W. Bloxham, E. Taylor, M. Conway, W. Jerrome, Rex Collins (cox). Bloxham won by half * length. Second heat: V. McFarlane. FConway, F. Bryan, R. Collins, Rex Collins (cox), v. R. Felton. R. O. Norden. KWoodside. L. MacDonald and A MacDonald (cox). Felton won by half a length. First semi-final: Bloxham** met J. Haylock, E. Such, A. Dalton. A Clark. Rex Collins (cox). Bloxham easily. Final: Bloxham beat Felton of two lengths.
