FIRE AT WHANGAREI

DAMAGE TO KITCHEN From Our Own Correspondent WHANGAREI, Saturday. Daily this morning the inmates of No. 2 Stanley Street were awakened by the crackling of fire. Mr. Arthur •lack, upon opening the kitchen door lound the room on fire. The fire brigade arrived promptly, and the outbreak was subdued with the use of the first-aid outfit. The kitchen was damaged to the extent of £SO, which is covered bv insurance. The house is owned by'Mrs D. W. Jack.
