MORE than the usual uncertainty shown after a vacation I*l in making a market was shown at the opening calls on Change this morning. Prices were erratic and indications are that it M ill be a day or so before any worthwhile business is put through.
Fluctuations Price movements, shown by a comparison of sales made this morning with the latest prior to the holidays, include: Waihi Mining, fall of Id. Business on the Auckland Market Transactions recorded on the Auckland market this morning included: At the early call.—Waihi Mining, 13s JOd. At midday.—Waihi Mining; 13s lOd; Js'ew Zealand Farmers’ Fertilisers, 18s Sd; Bank of New Zealand, 595. National Bank of Australasia Holds Dividend Rate Cabled advice from the head office bf the National Bank of Australasia is to the effect that the directors have decided to pay a dividend for the halfyear ended March 31 at the rate of JO per cent, per annum. This is the
rate which has been maintained since 1922. The directors also advise that reserves have been increased to £3,200,000. * * * Union Oil Dividend The payment of an interim dividend at the usual rate of 9d a share is announced by the directors of the Union Oil, Soap and Candle Company, Limited.
