97 VARIETIES OF FUR

RUSSIA’S EXHIBIT AT LEIPZIG Russia, which furnishes more than a quarter of all raw furs in the world, will exhibit 97 different varieties of live fur-bearing animals at the International Fur Exposition (1.P.A.), to be held in Leipzig until the end of September. A special feature will be a herd of about fifty Caracul sheep, with nomad shepherds from Bokhara and Turkestan in their native dress and living in their typical huts. As far as possible, animals from one particular section will be exhibited in their natural surroundings. There will be an Arctic section, with polar bears, foxes, seals, etc.; a section of forest animals, one for strand and stream animals. The Turkestan section will include tigers, jackals and panthers.
