CANNOT COME TO N.Z
HAGEN AND KIRKWOOD From Our Resident Reporter WELLINGTON, Today. Efforts to induce Walter Hagen and J. H. Kirkwood, the famous professional golfers, to visit New Zealand on their way back to America Australia, have proved fruitless. After the previous arrangements fell through, due to the discovery of a case of smallpox on the Aorangi, it was lipped that the two golfers would ibo willing to consent to break their journey on the way back to the United States. However, Hagen is booked lor a big tournament at an early date, and though no reasons have been given for the visit not being paid, hope has been abandoned by the quarter which was responsible for arranging the previous .terms.
