HUGE FRAUD

SYDNEY BUSINESS MEN ARRESTED INSURANCE CONCERN’S BOOKS SYDNEY, Friday. A dramatic raid by detectives on the offices of the Australian Federal Life and General Assurance Company was followed by the arrest of three well-known Sydney business men. The books and documents belonging to the company were seized. Further arrests are expected to be made. The three arrested men, Vivian Partridge, Ralph Paul and James Cochrane, were charged on warrant with conspiring to cheat and defraud the shareholders and policy-holders in the company. Bail of £SOO was allowed in each case. The amount involved in the charges is said to be £500,000.
