SEASON’S OPENING

WRESTLING ON MONDAY McDOUGALL AND LUNDYN FIT When “Scotty” McDougall and Alex Luridyn get to grips to open the Auckland wrestling season at the Town Hall on Monday evening, there should be thrills aplenty. Both men will be making first appearances in Auckland, but they come with formidable reputations and as they appear to be very evenly matched patrons who saw last year’s matches should need no encouragement to go I along. j Lundyn has wrestled in various centres—Finland, Russia, Siberia, China, Japan and Australia, having in 1 all upward of 200 matches. He is a strong man as well as a wrestler and McDougall will probably know that he has been wrestling before he “hits the hav” on Monday evening. The ‘Canadian-Scot has had about 700 matches, wrestling as many as 70 times in one year. Tie is not an opponent to treat lightly and he intends that his first appearance in Auckland will show him in winning vein. The men are of different physique. McDougall being tall and huskily built while the Finn is only of middle hri-ht hut with tremendous bread La. McDougall will have a pull in the weights, but that will be offset by Liiindyn’s extraordinary strength. Both are in the pink of condition. The principal bout will be supported by a number of excellent preliminary bouts.
