WOMAN SHOOTS HERSELF
SUICIDE WHILE DEPRESSED Special to THE SUN TUAKAU, Wednesday. The body of Mrs. Esther Rutherford, of Onewhero, was found about acjuarter of a mile from her home earlv this afternoon. There was a bulletwound through the head, and a small automatic revolver was lying near by Airs. Rutherford, who was the wife of air. F. J. Rutherford, was 35 vears of age. An inquest was held later in the afternoon by the district coroner Air C. K. Lawrie. Evidence was given that airs. Rutherford left her home about noon, being last seen by her maid, who understood that she was going into the garden When her husband came in to lunch he found a note from his wife indicating her intention to commit suicide. The husband of deceased stated that, since undergoing an operation some IS months ago, his wife had been subject to fits of mental depression. Ur. Abernethy gave corroborative evidence. A verdict of death from a bulletwound self-inflicted was returned bv the coroner.
