HYDE TAKES CHARGE IN ATLANTIC THIRD BATTLE SQUADRON lnited P.A.-—By Telegraph-—Copyright Reed. 10.5 a.m. LONDON, Wed. The British Admiralty has ordered Rear-Admiral G. F. Hyde, R.A.N., to hoist nis flag at Portsmouth on May 6 in command of the Third Battle Squadron of the Atlantic* Fleet. This is the Navy’s training squadron.
Rear-Admiral Hyde was the first flag officer of tlie Australian Navy l > command the Cotamonwealth’s fleet. He was succeeded in Australia bv Rear Admiral E. R. G. R. Evans, and went to England over a year ago for the purpose of gaining more intimate knowledge of the latest working methods'of the British Navy.
