SIR GORDON GUGGESBERG DIES IN ENGLAND ILL-HEALTH FOR MONTHS British Official Wireless Heed. Noon. RUGBT*. Tuesday-Brigadier-General Sir Gordon Guggesberg has died at Bexhill, aged 61. Early this year his resignation as Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the British Guiana was accepted on the ground of his ill health. He held a similar office in the Gold Coast from 1919 until 1927. When he retired from the Gold Coast 30,000 people lined the streets to bid him good-bye, for under his Governorship the country had made wonderful progress.
