THEFT AND FRAUD
CANVASSER GAOLED Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Sentences of 12, six and three months’ gaol concurrently were imposed by Mr. T. B. McNeil, S.M., on Victor Frederick Melville, alias Hill, a salesman, aged 35, who pleaded guilty to two charges of false pretences and one of theft. The total amount involved was £33 12s 6d. He was employed as a canvasser and forged orders. He had previously been in gaol, but had returned to his old ways.
