WORST FOR CENTURY
SNOW FALLS FOR HOLIDAY IN ENGLISH TOWNS DEPRESSING EASTER LONDON, Monday. The most wintry Eastertide experienced in Britain for a century spoilt the holiday. The rain and the cold weather were particularly depressing, as Easter was exceptionally late this year and better weather was expected. There is every prospect of the temperature remaining in the forties. Snow fell as far south as Folkestone and Ventnor. As a result the southern seaside resorts attracted few visitois, as people preferred the warmth of their London homes. Preparations had been made to accommodate record crowds.
