Carpenter Found Dead on Line Near Frankton
MUTILATED BY TRAIN A DRIVER’S DISCOVERY From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. The body of Mr. William Andrew Thompson,. 22, a carpenter employed by the Railway Department at Frankton, was found, shockingly mutilated, on the railway track near the Frankton butter factory this morning. Dismembered portions of the body were noticed by the d-iTer of the slow train for Auckland which left Frankton at 7.10 a.m. It appears that Thompson, who was married, with one child, left his home in Empire Street, Frankton, about eleven o’clock last night, ostensibly to go for a walk. His wife, who had been in hospital for 10 days, returned home yesterday. They spent the afternoon together, the husband having a day off. He was not seen alive again after leaving home last night. Mr. Andrew is said to have been of a bright and cheerful disposition, and in his usual good spirits yesterday.
