MR. JOHN CLARK i The death has occurred in Gisborne of Mi*. John Clark, the well-known sheepfarmer, who recently presented £5,000 for radium purchase.—(P.A.). MR. O. R. WISE ■ Mr. Osborne Raymond Wise, who lias died at Oamaru at the age of 74, was a prominent figure in the sporting world. For 50 years he was one of the mainstays of racing in the South Island and in his earlier days was a well-known breeder. MRS. E. TICKLEPENNY I . Mrs. Kllen Tickiepenny. who died at Xewstead on Sunday at the age of 30 was 'born in New Brunswick, Canada.’ and came to New Zealand with her parents in the ship Anne 85 years ago The family settled at Otahuhu where she married Mr. Tieklepennv, afterward moving to Claudelands. where they managed farms for the late Mr F. R. Claude and Messrs. T. and s Morrin. Of a family of eight sons and six daughters, Mrs. Tickiepenny is survived by tw*o sons and six daughters. There are 55 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren. MR. CHARLES ELGAR Mr. Charles Elgar, of Ferns-de Featherston, one of the Dominion’s best known farmers and sportsmen died suddenly during the Wairarapa Racing club s meeting on Saturday Mr. Elgar was a well-known and prominent sheepfarmer, owning two large properties, and was one of the oldest settlers in the Wairarapa.
