Yesterday was the coldest day experienced here for 10 years, with the thermometer seldom above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. There were bright spells, but many sharp storms continue today to the discomfort of holidaymakers. RUSSIA’S CONTRAST MOSCOW. Saturday. Russian atheists held midnight dances aud performances in the cinemas and theatres last night in the hope of luring workers from the churches. The anti-religious demonstrations in the streets were either abandoned or were modified compared with those of former years.
