AORANGI’S TRIP FROM VANCOUVER 17 KNOTS FROM SUVA After a quick voyage of 15 days 16 hours and 3S minutes actual steaming time the Royal Mall liner Aorangi dropped anchor in the stream at Auckland at 9.38 yesterday morning. The voyage was the second fastest from Vancouver that the Aorangi has made, the record being established by the motor-liner on her maiden voyage out. The Aorangi left Vancouver at noon on April 2, calling at Victoria the same day. She arrived at Honolulu at 5.30 p.m. on April S and left at 8 o'clock the next morning for Suva, which was reached at 6.30 p.m. on April 17, the vessel leaving that port at 2 p.m. on April 17. Coming down from Suva the Aorangi averaged 17.29 knots, and on the complete trip averaged 16.18 knots. Fine weather was experienced during the major part of the voyage. The time taken between Suva and Auckland was only 34 minutes slower than the record time taken between these ports on the vessel’s maiden voyage.
