GOOD CARDS IN FIRST ROUND The open handicap tournament conducted by the Maungakiekie Golf Club was commenced at the Titirangi links on Saturday, in perfect golfing weather. The fairways and greens, were in exceptionally good order, and some good cards were returned. The best card of the day was that of R. Edmonds, of the Glendowie Club, who did 74 in the morning, and 87 in the afternoon, and won the 36-holes medal handicap with a net total of 145. Entries were not so numerous as usual, a great number of the players being absent at tournaments. The match resulted in a tie between J. Hall and R. Bradley, 4 up, and X. C. Snedden and H.
