Eight teams competed. THREE MEN HOSE AND STANDPIPE Otorohanga, 24 2-ss, 1; Waihi. 25 3-ss, 2; Te Awamutu, 26 2-ss, 3; Whangarei, 27 l-ss, 4: Taumarunui, 27 3-ss, 5; Dargaville, 27 4-ss, 6. Eighteen teams competed. FOUR MEN DISABLED Taumarunui, 44 4-ss. 1: Thames. 45 3-ss, 2; Otorohanga, 46 2-ss, 3; Dargaville, 49 l-ss, 4: Te Aroha, 49 3-ss, 5; Waihi, 51 l-ss, 6; Whangarei, 51 l-ss, 7. Thirteen teams competed. CHAMPIONSHIP SHIELD POINTS Dargaville, 61 i. winners: Taumarunui, 53; Otorohanga, 48>-: Te Kuiti, 47: Waihi, 285; Thames’. 275: Whangarei, 26; Te Aroha, 20; Te Awamutu. 11: Devonport, 6. The Brereton Shield for events other than reels and rescue was won by Taumarunui, 41 points, with Dargaville", 24 h points, runners-up. The Cambridge Shield, for four men. was won by the Taumarunui team, with Thames runners-up. EVENTS AT TAIHAPE From Our Ov:n Correspondent TAIHAPE, Saturday. The United District Fire Brigades’ Association demonstration opened on the Oval Domain at Taihape this afternoon. Firemen from all parts of the North Island took part, and competition was keen. The three-men motor event, and the two-men coupling event, were decided today, and resulted as follows: — TWO-MEN COUPLING EVENT Waipukurau A.. 40 l-ssec, 1; Taihape A, 42 l-ssec, 2: Petone A, 42 4-ssec. 3. Carterton A, 44 l-ssec, i. Fourteen other teams also competed. THREE-MEN MOTOR EVENT Carterton A. 34sec, 1; Dannevirke A, 40sec. and Waipukurau A, 40see. tied for second place, and in the run-off Dannevirke A were successful, with Masterton A, 40 2-ssec, fourth. Nine other teams competed. _
