GAR WOOD DOES 96.25 MILES AN HOUR EIGHTH MISS AMERICA R.ecd. 9.30 a.m. MIAMI BEACH, Friday. Gar Wood lias established a new world record for motor-boats, of 96.25 miles an hour, with his latest boat, Miss America VIII. Perfect weather favoured Wood on the Indian Creek course, the surface of which was almost as smooth as a mirror.
