TWO MEN SHOT

WOOLLOOMOOLCO AFFRAY SENSATION IN SLUMS SYDNEY, Friday. ■ A shooting affray, for which members of the underworld are believed to be responsible, occurred tonight in Woolloomooloo. Walter Williamson, aged 35, was shot in the back and he died a few hours later. Charles Bourke, aged 20, was also shot in the back. He may recover. The police are unable to obtain any information regarding the wounded men’s assailants. Williamson, although dying, refused to make any statement. Bourke said he was not aware how or by whom he was shot. The police have ascertained that the shooting, which created a sensation in the slums, occurred in Palmer Street, altliough the victims denied this. They also denied that they are intimate friends, which, the police assert, they are. Bourke was sitting in a taxi-cab when he was wounded.
