DAISIES AND DANCING BELLS
At present our garden is a mass of lovely blooms. Edging the side lawn, is a feathery shrub, with Jong festoons of tiny, bright blue blossoms. Near the gate is another pretty shrub, with pale mauve-petalled flowers; but under my window is the prettiest picture of all. There is a tal£ Michaelmas daisy plant. The long trails of tiny white daisies intermingle with the heliotrope bells of another bush, and gently brush against my window. The plant with the heliotrope bells is, indeed, very beautiful. It grows in long, narrow, green-leafed branches, on which grow scores of those pretty dancing bells. Often people stop to admire it as they pass the gate. I will press one or two bells and send them to the Little Thought. —Joy Hill, aged 15.
