The weather was fin© after the fog for training work at Riccarton. Most of the work was done on the plough, though the course proper was open. P. V. Mason worked his team before the fog lifted. Arikiwai and First Sight were together at the end of six furlongs in 1.16 2-5. Paquito ran a good six in 1.16 3-5, assisted by Toawai over the last half-mile. Spoon covered six very easily in 1.17 4-5; Taragona six in 1.18 2-5, with Craigavon as a mate over the last five. Hounslow and Divinette took 1.20 for six. Starsliooter and Netley did a mile comfortably in 1.46 2-5, and Thurso beat Discourse over six in 1.19 2-5. Bailiff beat Malmsey over seven in 1.31 Lord Thomond ran six in 1.1 C, a very smart gallop; Miss Bradbury did five in 1.4 3-5, and The Viscount just beat Leader over six in 1.17 1-5. Leader was lame after working. Topere and Ranelag ran six in 1.18 3-5. Diana’s Lad jumped two hurdles and then ran seven with Matu in 1.36. Silver Coot sprinted five in 1.4 1-5, which was equalled by Pixie. Gold Panther ran five in 1.5 3-5, cmd Giggleswick brilliantly ran five in 1.2. Meadow Lark, under weight, did five on the grass in 1.3 4-5, and Hoylake six in 1.17 2-5. Gay Crest was given a working gal- ! lop and Tripaway took 1.19 3-5 for six. I Gala Day and Aberfeldy separately jumped four hurdles well. Sleipner cleared out from Sir Limond and ran live in 1.2 2-5. Gay Sonnet did a mile on the grass in 1.43 3-5. Lucky Light and Rin Tin Tin were together at the 49 d o - f half a mile on the grass in Historic and Dolomite ,ran a mile in 1.42 3-5: a smart performance. . Ges-I lure and Lineage sprinted down the I straight and Fernden beat Just an j Idea over five in 1.5. Sea Raid ahd Miss Xightraid ran six on the grass in 1.17 3-5. and Taramoa jumped four hurdles slowly. Weather Raid and Merry Peel ran half a mile on the grass in 51.
