Won by three lengths, with two between second and third. Time, 2.55. hisogne was favourite for the Kawa Kawa Hurdles and ran a fair race, but was beaten by Opa. Whisogne did the early leading and was still in charge half a mile from home, but Opa finished best and won by two lengths, while Vivo the same dis- ! tance away third and Rouex next. ! Equitant, Hunting Boy and Calapat all got away well and at the home turn Calapat took charge to win by a length from Equitant, who beat Perennis by two lengths, with Hunting Boy and Leisure next. Won by half a length, with two lengths j between second and third. Time, 2.5 i Cashier and Maori Boy were best backed for the Manchester Gold Cup, which was a great race all the way. Monsogne led out of the straight and along the back Llanore took charge. There was a bunching of the field before the straight, into which Maori Boy, Pahu, High Court and Yoma were the leaders. High Court finished best to win by a neck from Pahu, with Maori Boy a good third and Yoma fourth.
