ATTRACTIONS IN CITY AND SUBURBS After quiet observance of Good Friday, the city and suburbs are enjoying a round of sports attractions today. The autumn carnival of the Auckland Racing Club, which opened at Ellerslie, is the principal attraction, and is largely attended. The meeting will be continued on Monday. The annual inter-varsity tournament, which commenced this morning, is attracting considerable interest. Representative students from the fourcentres participating in various forms of sports will also be seen in action on Monday and Tuesday. The Auckland Bowling Centre'*Easter tournament, commenced yesterday, is being continued todaj*. ir section play. At Hamilton today, the preliminary rounds of the Auckland provincial golf championship are being decided, and the tourney will be continued on Monday and Tuesday. An open amateur tournament is also being held on the Maungakiekie Golf Club’s links at Titirangi today. The matches will be finished on Tuesday.
