DARGAVILLE PRESENTATION

HON. C. J. AND MRS. CARRINGTON HONOURED From Our Own Correspondent DARGAVILLE, Today. Parishioners of the Sacred Heart parish bade farewell to the lion. U. J. and Mrs. Carringjton in the Hibernian Hall last evening. Eulogistic references to the good work of Mr. Carrington and family during their quarter of a century’s residence in Dargaville for the church and the town made by Father Westeinde on behalf of the clergy and parishioners, and the Mayor. Mr. F. A. Jones, on behalf of the citizens. Father Westeinde handed a writing set to Mr. Carrington and a brass jardiniere to Mrs. Carrington, and wished them a bright future in their new home in Auckland. Mr. Carrington suitably replied. The previous evening the Druids’ Lodge honoured Bro. Carrington, P.D.P., a very* old member, by presenting him with a set of pipes. Mr. and Mrs. Carrington returned to Auckland today after a brief visit.
