On paper, Wellington looks much the strongest . r< w, and must start favourite, having won the race every season it has been rowed so far. Three of the crew were members of the Wellington inter-provincial eight, and the crew, which averages about 11 stone six, is the same as that which won last Reason's roue at Lyttelton, with one ! alteration. Patterson has had two successful seasons with the Otago Club and Evans and Wallace i are keen members of the Canterbury I Club. I The Auckland crew after training diligently, has settled down into a mjich stronger combination than was iu first expected. It is the heaviest crew :a the imu:, averaging just under 12 stone. Platts, Blakey and Watts are all I_' stone men, and Brooker and j Edwards are considerably heavier. The crew will be seen out from the Wai- - morrow morning. J. K.
