WEDDING OF WIDE INTEREST

CAP OF HEIRLOOM LACE SURMOUNTS VEIL OF TULLE HUNTER—ROBERTSON At St. David's Church last ; evening, a wedding of wide social interest was celebrated, when Jean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Robertson, Bridgeholm, Market Road, Remuera, was married to Mr. Charles James Hunter, of Colombo, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. Hunter, of Cambridge, and nephew of Mr. and Mrs. John Fleming, of Grafton. The Rev. D. C. Herron officiated at ; the ceremonv and Mr. Craston played the wedding music. The church was decorated with white and gold flowers and over the j bridal party was suspended a floral j wedding bell. The bride entered the church on ! her father’s arm and wore a dainty j gown of deep cream georgette. The sleeveless corsage had a wide circu- i lar inset of parchment silk lace. Two panels of the lace forming insets down the front of the long full skirt merged with the deep uneven hem of lace. The beautiful ivory tulle veil fell in graceful folds from a cap of heirloom rose point lace, edged with orange blossom, to form a filmy train with a deep border of gold lame and embroidered with a large true lover’s knot in silk braid and orange blossoms. She carried a dainty bouquet of delicate lemon and white begonias and maidenhair fern. Two sisters of the bride, Misses j Flora and Rlioda Robertson, j were bridesmaids. They were gowned j alike in frocks of deep cream geor- j gette; down the front of the ankle- ; length, full skirt were two panels o: petalled taffeta in a deeper shade of cream, which formed the hem. The sleeves of the close-fitting corsage had deep cuffs formed with two rows of taffeta petals, while a large taffeta bow was worn on the hips. They wore apricot felt hats edged with tulle and swathed with velvet ribbon in a darker shade and they carried gold baskets of autumn-tinted flowers. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. J. Watson, and Mr. R. I Woollams was groomsman. Mr. H. j lan Simson, Mr. W. Bell, Mr. J. An- j drews and Mr. X. Hunter acted as ! ushers. i A reception was held after the cere- j mony at Bridgeholm, Market Road, the home of the bride’s parents. The decorations were carried out effectively in white and gold, the supper table having bowls of flowers in these shades while a subdued light was cast by a tall brass candelabra. Mrs. Robertson was gowned in a black embossed chenille georgette frock with an uneven hem of plain georgette and small black ballibuntal , hat relieved at the side with a blue j chou. Her bouquet was of pink j flowers. Mrs. John Fleming, aunt of ; the bridegroom, was wearing a navy \ blue marocain frock embroidered in j gold and a navy felt hat. She car- « ried a bouquet of crimson flowers. :
