ALLEGED THEFTS FROM MERCANTILE FIRM REMANDED FOR A WEEK Arrested on a charge of stealing 19S sacks of maize, chaff and wheat valued at £214 7s 6d, the property of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Dominic Daniel Petty, a storeman, appeared at the Police Court this morning. He* was remanded for one week, bail of £IOO being allowed. He was arrested today by DetectiveSergeant P. Doyle. The thefts are alleged to have taken place between October 1, 1929, and April 10, 1930. The goods said to have been stolen include 65 sacks of wheat, 20 sacks of chaff, 66 sacks of maize and six sacks of scratch food.
