NEW BANK OPPOSED
TIME IS INOPPORTUNE CRITICS SAY COULD DO NO GOOD Reed. 12.45 p.m. MELBOURNE, Today. The Associated Banks of Victoria oppose the Federal Government's proposal to establish a Central Reserve Bank cn the ground that the time is inopportune for such a measure, which would hamper the banks’ efforts’ to assist the Federal and State Governments. It is pointed out the Reserve Bank could do no more at present than the Commonwealth Bank is doing.
