“STREAK OF VANITY”
BORSTAL FOR BANK CLERK TOOK MORE THAN £6OO Press Association DUNEDIN, Tuesday. In the Supreme Court today John Albert Simes, aged 19, was sentenced to three years in the Borstal Institute on charges of theft as a bank clerk at Alexandra. More than £6OO is involved. Statements showed that accused was given a small motor by his people, but subsequently bought a big car for £430. Mr. Justice Kennedy remarked that evidently a streak of vanity had something to do with the case.
