REMARKABLE GOLF

OLAYING at Pupuke at the week- *- end, L. J. Minogue, the club's captain, had the distinction of holing in one at the 12th hole, 155yds. The honours necessary after this happening were done befitting to the office he holds in his club. It is also worthy of note that the four-ball playing when the holing occurred had a gross score of 8 for this hole, made up as follows: 1—2—2—3. The par aggregate is 12. Further, the best ball for the round of 18 holes was the remarkably low gross of 61. Included in the card were 11 threes, three fours, three fives, and one one. The players were M. E. Thompson and A. W. Short v. L. J. Minogue and E. W. Mills, the match finishing all square.
