GIFT TO GOVERNMENT
70 ACRES OF LAND FOR REST HOME AREA NEAR OTAKI Press Association . WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Seventy acres of land at Otaki, estimated to b€i worth several thousands of pounds, have been presented by Mr. Byron Brown to the Government for use as a site for a rest home. The property, which possesses both beach and road access, embraces a forest of pines and a considerable area of arable land. This handsome gift follows one of four acres recently made to the Government by Mr. Byron Brown for the purposes of a children’s health camp. “The estate is a very fine one,*' said the Minister of Health, the Hon. A. J. stallworthy, in referring to Mr. Byron Brown’s handsome gift. “It is worth some thousands of pounds, and I am of opinion that the gift is beyond all praise. I hope to see an institution established there in due course of which New Zealand will be proud. Mr. Byron Brown’s unstinted generosity will be widely appreciated.”
