HEIGHT ESTIMATING

COMPETITION AT PAGEANT RESULTS ANNOUNCED The results of the height estimating contest at the Auckland air pageant last Saturday, has been announced, the winner being Aliss McCarthy, of 56 Gillies Avenue, Epsom, who estimated the altitude exactly. The correct height recorded by an instrument in the machine was G,666 feet. The first prize, a radio set, has already been awarded. Aliss I. E. AT. McLachlan, of 4, Fencarrow Avenue, Alount Eden, and Airs. F. C. Alackadam. of Blake Street, Avondale, tied for second place with an estimate of 6,(*soft. Both women will be given free flight s over Auckland in one of the club’s machines.
