HON. O. F. NELSON’S VOTE

FRANCHISE GRANTED IN NEW ZEALAND Following an application by the Hon. O. F. Nelson, the franchise has been extended to him, and he is entitled to vote In the Parnell by-election. It so happened that Mr. Nelson was living in Samoa when, in 1924, he was granted his naturalisation papers. These were issued under .the hand and seal of Viscount Jellicoe, of Scapa, at Wellington. The fact that they were issued in the Dominion established Mr. Nelson’s claim to a vote in a New Zealand constituency. His eldest daughter has also been granted the franchise.
