RAIN MAKES TRACK HEAVY Reed. 12.5 p.m. SYDNEY, Today. The semi-final gallops at Randwick this morning were marred by rain, and tho going on the track was on the heavy side. The Hags were 70 feet out on the course proper. Nightmarch covered six furlongs nicely in 1.21, Cathmar beat Glare over seven in 1.37 L Gesto and Carabul ran seven in 3.38, Cimabue did the last three of six in. 42, Greenline ran seven in 1.34, and Amounis five in 1.8. Soulton led Navali by three lengths over seven in the best of the morning. Parkwood negotiated a mile in 1.45, Derwon beat Taisno by a head over seven in 1.315. Phar Lap was hard held in a ninefurlong gallop, Golden Music led Spanish Galleon by a length over six in 1.20, Kidaides covered ten in 2.155, Troilus beat Glasgow by two lengths over seven in 1.3.15.
