FAREWELL TO GOLFERS
AUCKLAND CLUB’S DINNER Members of the Auckland Golf Club held a dinner at the clubhouse, Middlemore, on Saturday evening, to bid farewell to Mr. AI. Louisson, past-pre-sident of the club, and Mr. A. E. M. Rhind, secretary, who are leaving this week on a visit to England. References were made to the splendid services to the club rendered by Mr. Louisson and by Air. Rhind. A presentation of a travelling rug was made to Mr. Rhind, who has been secretary .to the club for 10 years. T. his was the first social function to take place in the clubhouse since the recent alterations were completed, and tho increased accommodation available was greatly appreciated. Air. Rhind and Air. Louisson, while in England, will both compete in the Lucifer competition held annually at Walton Heath or Sunningdale for overseas visitors, who are for the duration of the tournament the guests of the Lucifer Club, a prominent English golfing society.
