NEWMARKET TRAM-STOPS

TO REMAIN UNCHANGED SANDRINGHAM EXTENSION After a visit of inspection, members of the Auckland Transport Board have decided that Newmarket stoppingplaces shall remain as they are. The Heald Road-Omahu Road stop will also remain unchanged. With regard to the request by a deputation that the Sandringham tram route should be extended along Mount Albert Road to Vincent Road, the manager, Mr. A. E. Ford, said it would first be necessary to make a further survey of the district with a view to estimating the likely number of passengers. Additional technical details would also be required and as the Sandring-ham-Mount Albert Road extension would not be proceeded with for nine months, he recommended that consideration be deferred for six months.
