THERE was one man at the -** Wanganui meeting who can be given the palm for gamsness, althoLigh many knowing his horse, found another name for his enterprise. This was the Epsom trainer, George Stubbs, who started Speed King in the Wanganui Cup. Just what the public thought of his prospects was reflected in the £ll invested on him. The big awkward son of Our Thorpe ran accordingly, but evidently pleased the “optimistic” George, as he paid up again in the principal event on Saturday, and was again among the also started division.
