SECRET LONDON ARMY TO OPPOSE SOVIET REPRISALS FOR KOUTEPOFF Reed. Noon. LONDON, Sunday. The "Daily Herald” displays a story of an attempt to form a White Army in London, pledged to kidnap and hold Soviet officials as hostages and restore some Tsar to the Russian throne. The appeal began In an advertisement in the “agony” column of the “Morning Post,” asking those interested in the fate of General Koutepoff, who is believed to have been kidnapped in Paris, to communicate with an anonymous advertiser. From a list of answers a roll of adherents is being drawn up, secretly pledged by the most sacred oath known, to hold themselves at the disposal of the Russian Monarchist high command as soldiers, sailors, airmen, doctors and nurses.

It is stated the proposed new organisation thus enrolling is to bear a name showing that its origin is due to the abduction of Koutepoff. “This culminating abomination is an insult to law and order and to the laws of hospitality,” it says of the incident. The organisation’s objects are stated to be first to ransom, rescue or hold hostages for Koutepoff; secondly, to place at the disopsal of the Russian Monarchist Command an organised party willing to serve in exterminating the present togime in Russia and restoring the Romanoff’s rule. The organisation offers to permit sympathisers to Remain anonymous, and be known only to the central or* ganlsation.
