For a year past the police have been baffled by the murder of seven women, whose mutilated bodies were found in wells in desert villages in Morocco. All the victims were strangled Some had their feet and ears cut off, and many months of search for this desert “Jack the Ripper” were fruitless. Yesterday the police heard a woman’s moans coming from the bottom of a well, and rescued a halfstrangled woman, who stated her assailant was minus two fingers on his right hand. The villages were scoured, and a native ex-sharpshooter named Miloudl Hassen, who served in the war, was arrested. He' confessed when confronted with j the half-strangled woman.
