Mrs. 11. Cotter is on a visit to Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. Brian Hewitt left for Sydney on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. A. Steele, of Gisborne, are staying at the Hotel Cargen. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Fry left by the Corinthic for a visit to England. * * * Miss A. Haley, of Auckland, is visiting Cambridge, and is the guest of Mrs. Sou ter. Mrs. E. X. Valintine and Miss IX A. Garrick, of Hamilton, are at the Star Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Johnson, of Pukekohe, have left on a six months’ trip to Europe. Mrs. G. L. Bradley, of Herne Bay, is leaving tomorrow for a visit to the South Island. Miss Molly Mitchelson, of Remuera, is visiting Hamilton and is the guest of Mrs. F. Vickery. * * Miss I. Armitage, who has been visiting Mrs. Alan Bremner, in Hamilton, has returned to Auckland. Mrs. John Macky has returned from a visit to Palmerston Xorth, where she was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Guy. Mr. G. YC. Clinkard, late secretary to the Administrator of Samoa, and Mrs. Clinkard, with tlieir son and daughter, are returning to Xew Zealand by the Tofua, arriving at Auckland today. Mr. and Mrs. M. M. McCall urn leave this evening for Russell to attend the marriage of their eldest son to Miss Dorothy Whitelaw, of Victoria Stat ion, Russell. The wedding will take place tomorrow. Mr. and Mrs. J. Phillips, of Wellington, Mr. and Mrs. .T. Kerr, of Scotland, Mr. and Mrs. D. Walsh, of Colombo, Mr. and Mrs. Holdsworth, of Gisborne, and Mr. and Mrs. H. Bayly, of Hawke’s Bay, are among the guests at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Smith, of Paparoa, whose golden wedding was celebrated recently, are leaving next month on an extended visit to Australia. They will be joined at Sydney by Captain and Mrs. C. B. And resen and will then travel overland to Mackay, Xorth Queensland.
