“Marianne,” starring the . inimitable Marion Davies, as a little French girl, is now at the Crystal Palace Theatre. The story begins with a prologue showing Marianne waving farewell to her French sweetheart, at the beginning of the war. When the A.E.F. boys arrive in her barnyard on their way home after the Armistice, Stagg, a private, woos and wins her heart. She is about to accept him when her soldier-sweetheart returns, blinded. Courageously faithful, Marianne remains with the blind man, and Stagg. Lroken-hearted, goes back to “Fortysecond Street.” The blind man, however, senses Marianne's love for the doughboy. He becomes a priest, freeing Marianne to go to the man she really loves. GREY LYNN CINEMA “The Greyhound Limited,*’ an unusually thrilling railway story with the well-known actor, Monte Blue, in the role of an engine-driver, is the big talking attraction at Grey Lynn Cinema from this evening.
