BONUS ATTACKED
RATEPAYERS AND COUNCIL Considering that the funds of Takapuna Borough are insufficient for tho : giving of bonuses •to employees, the I Western Area Ratepayers’ and Resi- ‘ dents’ Association, at a recent meet- ' ing. took strong exception to the action j of the council in making a grant of i £3O to Mr. J. Bodle, engineer, for work ; done in connection with the unemployment relief schemes. It was noted with : satisfaction that two council members, Messrs. J. Guiniven and Collins, had • recorded their votes against the proposal. 1 A sum of £7 10s has been raised ; through a cuchro party toward the i cost of erecting a shelter shed, and it lis hoped to increase this amount 1 through a dance to» be held shortly, i Canvassers over a small portion of ! the area have raised £1 2s 6d toward ] tho Obstetrical Fund appeal.
